専門通訳の事例 — 技術・医療・AIが重なる3つの現場(匿名)专业口译案例 — 技术、医疗、AI 交叉的三个现场(匿名)Professional interpreting cases — three assignments where technology, medicine and AI meet (anonymized)

In recent months, more of our assignments have mixed technology, medicine and AI in a single meeting. To protect confidentiality we omit company names and describe only what was needed and how we prepared.
Case 1 — a European precision-parts maker’s executive visit (Japanese–English, on site)
The CEO and VP of a European precision-parts manufacturer in semiconductor test spent three days in Japan. One interpreter covered the technical meetings, a factory visit and dinner, with spring contact probe, surface treatment and semiconductor test terms prepared as a glossary beforehand. See the technical interpreting guide for the full preparation list.
Case 2 — a Japanese clinic and a Middle Eastern company online (English–Japanese, remote)
A meeting between a women’s clinic in Japan and a company in the United Arab Emirates about women’s health, hormones, longevity medicine and international collaboration. The client requested Christine Lee, who has a clinical medicine background. See the medical interpreting guide.
Case 3 — a Chinese company’s three days of meetings in Tokyo (Chinese–Japanese, on site)
A Chinese company held three days of business meetings in Tokyo, and we interpreted between Chinese and Japanese on site. Medical, cancer screening, AI and cloud-service terms moved back and forth within the same meetings, so we organized each meeting’s counterparts and goals and prepared a cross-domain glossary.
What worked in all three
- Materials shared in advance: agenda, participants, product names, slides.
- A glossary that keeps growing until the day, including in-house names.
- One interpreter throughout, carrying over terms and context.
- Check, don’t guess: no plausible-sounding inventions.
Rates and how to book
